Oh hey!Welcome! I am the Sandy behind "Sweet n' Sandy". I'm a Jr. High Home Ec Teacher and I like to think I'm an artist too. My favorite mediums include flour, butter, sugar.... oh, and then watercolors. I know... kind of a different mix... but they both truly have my heart. I took my first art class in 9th grade after months and months of begging my mom to get out of band. My parents lovingly forced us to learn some sort of musical instrument. To my dismay, I suffered through playing the flute for 2 years through 7th and 8th grade. Everyday I passed a display cabinet that housed paintings from the art class down the hall. I remember stopping and staring and wanting so bad to take that class, my fingers actually ached. I finally convinced my mom that I couldn't live another moment blowing air into that flute. Not to be dramatic, but it was in that 9th grade art class that my very life course changed. I found something that moved me. I found an inner confidence in myself that I desperately needed at that time in my teenage years. Everyone has their thing that moves them. I'm glad I found mine. I love creating anything, whether it be lesson plans, watercolor paintings, dinner, birthday cakes, or halloween costumes. Art is just one outlet for me, and watercoloring is my favorite medium. I painted my first temple for my Mom for Christmas while I was in college. I never even thought to scan it in and make prints. Years later, when a friend suggested it, a light bulb went on. The rest is history... ever since, I've been painting and selling prints on the side, fulfilling my artsy heart. I'd love to share my creations with you.
